ベン・シモンズが観た日本 「日本の魂」ベン・シモンズはジョージア州コロンバス市で育ち、ニューヨーク州北部の大学で写真と心理学を学んだ後、特別奨学金を得てフロリダ大学の大学院へ。写真と美術史の修士号を取得し、ノースキャロライナ州のペンランド・クラフト・スクールで教鞭を取りました。その後, 日本へ渡り、現在に至っています。日本建築に美意識を持った彼は東京から南下すること１時間。相模湾三浦半島に活動母体のベン・シモンズ・フォトグラフィー社を設立。ベン・シモンズは日本中の素晴らしい情景を世界に発信しています。デザイン性と示唆に富む作品を強みとし、世界各地の撮影プロジェクトやフォト・エッセイ、写真集、オリジナルプリントなどを手ています。
The work of Ben Simmons, who grew up in Columbus, Georgia.He studied photography and psychology at university in upper New York State, then completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography and art history on fellowship at the University of Florida.Ben taught photography at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina,before traveling to Japan in search of adventure. Ben Simmons Photography Inc. is based in Cosmos Studio, a former fisherman’s residence on Sagami Bay, south of Tokyo on Miura Peninsula.Ben specializes in evocative graphic images for assignments, photos-essays,books, and original prints.
